Will She or Won't She???

As we climbed the front steps to put the gift we had brought on the porch, I heard Mike's voice inside the door. I had to stick my head in and see how Mike was holding up! He seemed a little nervous as he fidgeted with his necktie (though I think he was doing much better than I had some thirteen years ago when Kim and I tied the knot). A young woman came down the stairs and announced that "Kaela doesn't want to come down." We went back outside wondering if there was any significance to that statement. After all, it had been rumored before (by Mike himself) that they had planned on getting married before but had changed their minds. Kaela's dad told me later that the had gone as far as to put a deposit on Gunston Hall for a Virginia wedding, but then changed their minds.
